Missing Swimmer In Serious Condition After Being Found Near Venice Pier

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A swimmer that went missing around 9:30 p.m. near the Venice Fishing Pier has been found.

Officials say the unidentified swimmer was taken to a nearby hospital where he is in serious condition.

Los Angeles County lifeguards and City firefighters rescued the man about 40 minutes after they began the search.

Authorities searched by air and water near the pier at Washington Boulevard and Ocean Front Walk, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Katherine Main.
